HOST A HSFGR-SANCTIONED SHOW
HSFGR-sanctioned shows promote structured evaluation, fair competition, and the long-term preservation of the Heritage Silky Fainting Goat. We welcome clubs, fairs, agricultural events, and member groups who want to host events aligned with our standards. Hosts may exhibit their animals, provided that judging and ring procedures remain independent and consistent with HSFGR standards. Conflict-of-interest safeguards apply.
Why Sanction with HSFGR?
HSFGR-sanctioned events:
• Follow a clearly defined class and title system
• Use approved judges who adhere to the Breed Standard
• Contribute official results to the herdbook
• Support youth participation and education
• Strengthen regional development of the breed
Our goal is consistency, not politics. Sound goats. Clear rules. Respectful rings.
Who May Host?
HSFGR welcomes applications from:
• Members in Good Standing
• Recognized livestock clubs or agricultural organizations
• Fairs or event coordinators committed to following HSFGR rules
Hosts must agree to follow:
• The HSFGR Rulebook
• The Show Rules & Title System
• The Code of Conduct
At least one designated Show Liaison must be an HSFGR Member in Good Standing to ensure proper reporting and communication.
What Is Required?
To receive sanction approval, a host must:
□ Submit a Show Sanction Application
□ Provide show date, location, and format
□ Select an approved HSFGR judge
□ Use official HSFGR class listings
□ Pay required sanction fee
□ Agree to submit official results within 10 calendar days
Sanction is not complete until approval and fee confirmation are issued by HSFGR.
Multi-Show Weekends Encouraged
HSFGR supports multi-judge weekends (for example, three single-judge shows in one weekend).
This format:
• Maximizes exhibitor value
• Allows goats to earn multiple placements
• Provides consistent evaluation across judges
• Encourages travel and participation.
Host Support
Approved hosts receive:
• Official Class List & Ring Procedure
• Printable Class Sheets
• Results Reporting Templates
• Branding guidance
• Access to registry support during planning
Hosts are responsible for facility, staffing, and event logistics.
Reporting Results
After the event, hosts must:
□ Submit official results within 10 calendar days
□ Include class placements (1st–4th)
□ Include GCH and RGCH results
□ Ensure exhibitor numbers and registration numbers are accurate
Accurate reporting protects titles and registry integrity.
Show Standards & Preservation
HSFGR shows are more than competition.
When judges understand and adhere to the Breed Standard, shows:
• Guide consistency across regions
• Reinforce correct structure and heritage traits
• Prevent drift away from foundational type
• Help preserve the breed’s long-term identity
Sanctioned shows exist to strengthen the Heritage Silky Fainting Goat – not change it.
Host Participation & Conflict Safeguards
HSFGR recognizes that in developing breeds, many of the individuals willing to host events are also active exhibitors.
Hosts may exhibit animals at HSFGR-sanctioned shows, provided that:
• Judges are independently selected and approved
• Judges have no immediate family or financial partnership with the host
• Ring procedures follow official HSFGR guidelines
• Official class sheets and placements are recorded and submitted
• Any disputes are directed to the Registry Director
HSFGR does not prohibit responsible participation.
Instead, we rely on structure, documentation, and transparency to maintain fairness.
Perception matters – and professionalism protects it.
