HSFGR maintains its own independent herd book and registry database.
When an owner applies to register an animal, the owner provides documentation concerning that goat. This may include the animal’s registered name, date of birth, sex, identification, breeder, ownership, sire, dam, pedigree, history, and any existing registration information.
HSFGR reviews the submitted documentation under its own registration rules. Once accepted, the animal is entered into the HSFGR herd book and assigned a unique HSFGR registration number.
This creates a new and independent HSFGR record. It does not remove, alter, cancel, or replace a registration issued by another organization. The original registration remains with the registry that issued it.
HSFGR does not access or copy another registry’s private database, software, certificate design, forms, logos, or proprietary materials. Our records are created from documentation voluntarily submitted by the animal’s owner and reviewed by HSFGR.
Breeders are not required to register exclusively with HSFGR. They remain free to maintain registrations with other organizations and to make the registry decisions that best serve their own herds.
This is how independent herd books are built: documented animals, owner-submitted information, registry review, and a unique assignment within each registry’s own system.
