HSFGR Exhibitor Checklist
Showing should feel organized, not overwhelming. This checklist helps you prepare for a smooth, confident day in the HSFGR show ring.
This checklist is provided to help exhibitors prepare for a smooth, organized HSFGR-sanctioned show.
BEFORE THE SHOW
REGISTRATION & ENTRY
□ Goat is properly registered or recorded with HSFGR
□ Registration number matches entry form
□ Goat entered in correct class (age and sex)
□ Entry submitted by deadline
IDENTIFICATION
□ Goat has legible official identification
□ Registration name and number are confirmed
□ Copy of registration certificate available (recommended)
CONDITION & PRESENTATION
□ Goat is in good health
□ Hooves trimmed
□ Coat clean and brushed
□ Goat is manageable and accustomed to halter/lead
WHAT TO BRING
□ Halter and lead in good condition
□ Visible exhibitor number
□ Grooming supplies
□ Water and basic care supplies
□ Paperwork copies (recommended)
IN THE RING
□ Enter promptly when class is called
□ Line up along the rail as directed
□ Maintain safe spacing between animals
□ Follow judge and steward instructions
□ Present respectfully during lineup
□ Remain attentive for Champion lineup if placing 1st or 2nd
SPORTSMANSHIP
□ Respect judges and officials
□ Practice humane handling at all times
□ Maintain courtesy toward fellow exhibitors
□ Demonstrate professional behavior inside and outside the ring All HSFGR events operate under the Code of Conduct. The Judge’s decision if final.
AFTER THE SHOW
□ Confirm placements with host if needed
□ Retain personal records
□ Direct official questions first to host, then registry if necessary
Official results are recorded and submitted by the show host within 10 calendar days.
