Youth Participation & Show Wether Projects
HSFGR offers a Youth Show Wether Project Program to give youth exhibitors a meaningful, affordable way to participate in Heritage Silky Fainting Goat education and exhibition without requiring ownership of breeding stock.
Youth participants must be connected to an approved adult sponsor or active adult member account. The youth may be listed as the exhibitor or handler, while the adult sponsor remains responsible for registry communications, records, conduct, transfers, and fees.
Youth members do not automatically receive an independent herd name or herd mark. Herd names and herd marks are breeder/farm identifiers and are reserved for approved breeder accounts.
Registration & Record Services
HSFGR is digital-first for speed, accuracy, and verification. Printed certificates remain available as an optional service for members who prefer paper records or need buyer handoff packets.
Per-Goat Registration Fees
Doe Registration — $15/head
Buck Registration — $25/head
Buck registration fees are higher by design to encourage intentional breeding decisions and discourage indiscriminate use of unproven males. Structural correctness and soundness come first.
Show Wether Registration — $10/head
- A breeder-classified, castrated male considered suitable for youth, project, or exhibition use may be registered as a Show Wether for a reduced fee. Show Wethers are non-breeding animals but may be transferred and shown by eligible HSFGR members or youth exhibitors.
Herd Registration Pack (6+ goats, one submission)
Does — $13/head
Bucks — $23/head
Show Wethers — $9/head
Conditions:
Herd Pack applies to 6+ goats submitted together in one complete submission.
Incomplete submissions revert to standard fees until all required info is received.
Transfers
Seller Transfer Notice – FREE – Seller reports that an HSFGR-recorded animal has been sold, placed, or transferred. This creates a registry record that the animal has left the seller’s possession, but does not complete official ownership transfer.
- Official Transfer Completion — $10/head – Buyer confirms required information, meets applicable membership requirements, pays the transfer fee, and becomes the official owner of record. Updated digital certificate is issued when transfer is complete. Mailed paper certificate is optional and may be requested for the applicable certificate fee.
Required Reporting
If an animal is registered and later moved to Pet-Only or non-breeding status, prior registration fees are not refunded.
Certificates
Digital PDF Certificate – Included Approved registrations and completed transfers include a digital certificate or digital registry record. Members may print their own certificate copy from the digital certificate when available.
- Printed Certificate Packets
- Digital certificates with seals are included with completed registrations.
- Printed certificates with seals may be requested for an additional mailing fee of $12.00 per packet, with up to 20 certificates per packet.
- BULK REGISTRATION
As a bulk registration courtesy, HSFGR will include one printed certificate packet at no additional charge for every 20 goats submitted on the same day in two complete registration submissions.
- This courtesy applies to goats submitted together on the same day and is not cumulative across separate submissions. Incomplete submissions do not qualify until all required information has been received and the registrations are ready to process.

Revision Notes
Updated HSFGR’s fee and transfer language to clarify the registry’s digital-first record system, optional paper certificate services, and two-stage transfer process.
A clear distinction in our original process of a Seller Transfer Notice and Official Transfer Completion. The Seller Transfer Notice allows the seller or breeder to report that an HSFGR-recorded animal has been sold, placed, or transferred, creating a registry record that the animal has left the seller’s possession. Official Transfer Completion requires buyer information, applicable membership requirements, and payment of any required transfer fee before the buyer becomes the owner of record.
Certificate language was also updated to clarify that digital certificates and registry records are the primary official record format, while mailed paper certificates and printed certificate packets may be offered as optional services to support buyer handoff, breeder files, and members who prefer physical documentation.
Created supporting transfer forms, including the Seller Transfer Notice Form, Buyer Transfer Completion Form, and Sale & Transfer Receipt, to improve traceability, buyer documentation, and breeder accountability without requiring automatic mailed certificates for every registration or transfer.
