Before You Ship
Confirm the current submission form, sample type, tube type, shipping day, turnaround time, and whether owner-submitted samples are accepted. Keep a copy of the official report in your herd files. HSFGR does not diagnose disease, interpret results as veterinary advice, or certify herd-health status.
Johne’s Testing Note
Johne’s testing can be difficult to interpret because infected animals may not shed consistently. Blood testing and fecal testing answer different questions, and a negative result does not always rule out infection, especially early in disease or during non-shedding periods.
If Johne’s is a concern, work with your veterinarian and the laboratory to choose the right test, timing, and repeat-testing plan.
